Recently Google has begin to direct users that read blogs on its Blogger/Blogspot platform to country-specific URLs in an effort to prevent censorship laws from any one country affecting those that may not find the content objectionable.
You can also check out the change by visiting to any blogger blog site like if you are from India and you visited in any blog they will redirect you to .blogspot.in URL.
Check out this example:
Visit This Blog: blogcarteak.blogspot.com
After visiting you will redirect to this URL: blogcarteak.blogspot.in
The change is live in India but Google, according to its support page, is planning to take a similar approach in other countries as well.Take example If you are fromAustralia they will redirect you to blogcarteak.blogspot.au URL or if you are from Singapore they will change URL to blogcarteak.blogspot.sg for Pakistan users change it blogcarteak.blogspot.pk URL. Blogger redirect URL from country based.
Why Google is Redirecting your Blogger Blogs?
Google switching to country-specific blogspot.com URLs? The answer is – this gives them the ability to censor (or remove) content hosted on Blogger country-wise.The bad news is that all blogger blogs Alexa rank is now drop. This change was specifically made to enable country wise censorship.
“By utilizing ccTLDs, content removals can be managed on a per country basis, which will limit their impact to the smallest number of readers. Content removed due to a specific country’s law will only be removed from the relevant ccTLD.”
Who is affected by this Change?
Every Blogger user who doesn’t have a custom domain name(but has readers across the globe) irrespective of the country you are from is affected by this change. Right now it seems like the change has been rolled out only in India. So when an Indian user visits your blog, he will be redirected to the .in TLD. using a 302 redirect.
